Favorite Summer Dresses

It’s been crunch time around the store lately, with customers and staff all pulling together functional, stylish, and most of all easy to sew summer wardrobes. With the weather being as wonderful as it has been, no one wants to spend the whole day inside sewing (as is more enjoyable in winter months) yet we all still have that desire to create. Summer clothing and accessories are more on the fun side to whip up, as you can play around with lightweight fabrics in bright colors, generally don’t need linings, or sleeves, or extra technical details that you find on most cold weather garments, and are fast to make. Here are some favorite dress patterns around the shop that although can be worn all year, are most exciting for summer time. All these dresses take no longer than a couple hours to make, including cutting out pattern and fabric, so you can easily dash one up before bed or first thing in the morning and spend the rest of the day out in the sunshine showing off your darling new garb. We currently have a variety of great cotton/linen blends and wonderful cotton voiles, and a spectacular shipment of chambray’s and linen’s arriving to the shop soon, so make sure to stop on by and stock up on these perfect summer fabrics to match with these patterns.
