Ever wanted to get your hands on fabric you've seen used in creations by some of Portland's super talented designers?  You're in luck.  Next Wednesday, July 14th, Modern Domestic will be hosting the first Designer Fabric Swap and Sale.  Here's how it will work: a handful of local designers including, but not limited to Erica of Garnish, Rachel of Church and State, and Kara of Tumbleweed, will have the fabric they're ready to part with for great prices.  Bolt is going to jump into the action too, with a selection of fashion fabrics marked way down.  The sale will be held from 3 to 8, with the first two hours reserved for designers to shop.  From five to eight the sale will be open to the public.  You may want to be sure to bring cash and checks, as not all vendors may be accepting credit cards.  And, tell your friends!  This will be an excellent opportunity to pick up some really great fabric at really great prices and have a chance to chat it up with local designers.

New things to the store this week include these big, beautiful stacks of Robert Kaufman Kona solid fat quarters.  There are six different colorways and either 21 or 22 quarters in each pack.  At the store we have all been quite in awe of the beautiful stacks of color.  For ideas of what to do with these pretties, check here.  The lovely prints shown behind the packs are from Daisy Janie.  Stay tuned for more on that collection and the rest of our growing organic cotton selection.
