New Men's Patterns & Fabric Options

By Sarah

Thread Theory Patterns are back in the shop and we went all out, ordering all their great basics many of which are great for the chilly weather ahead of us. Try the Finlayson Sweater or the Newcastle Cardigan in one of our cozy organic cotton sweatshirt fleeces and the Strathcona Henley in one of our many jersey knits or a thermal knit.

A good alternative to the Negroni or All State shirt is this Fairfield Button-Up. The fit is moderately slim, there is a collar stand and there's options for either a pleat or darts in the back. Any shirting weight fabric will do for this classic button-up including these either of these brand new flannel-like plaids in a cotton/poly blend, featured below.

The Jutland and Jedediah Pants are great for the modern gent and both could be made dressy or casual depending on the fabric. We have some great twill fabric here at the shop and these handsome wool suitings that will arrive soon, pictured below. Some of our Thread Theory patterns are available here and the rest will be up soon. We promise!

We are super excited about this new book, The Gentleman's Wardrobe, by Vanessa Mooncie. The book includes multiple clothing pieces that are vintage inspired but designed for the modern man as well as accoutrements such as a messenger bag, wallet, robe, slippers and two tie styles. It would make a great gift for a gent who's has talked about getting into sewing. All patterns, instructions and techniques are included. All-in-one book!
