Over the past few weeks we spent some time sorting through all the patterns we carry, organizing them by their largest chest and hip measurements. We were disappointed to see just how limited the ranges are of many indie pattern companies we carry, especially in printed format. We know that the conversation of size inclusivity in the online sewing community has been going on for a long time, and we are sorry to be so late to add our voice to this important conversation. We now have our patterns organized in our online shop by their largest measurement, so you can browse through all the patterns that have at least a 50” chest or hip measurement, and at least a 60” chest or hip measurement

We are very excited to be able to offer you a way to browse patterns with more inclusive sizing in our online shop, but since many of the indie patterns we carry have a more limited size range, we wanted to share with you some indie pattern companies (specifically PDF patternmakers) with more inclusive size ranges in an easy to search way. We know that it’s hard to qualify what constitutes an inclusive size range, as there will always be folks who are left out of any size range. For this list, we included pattern companies whose highest measurement is at least 55”, we noted the highest chest and hip measurements for each pattern company listed.

This post is in no way an exhaustive list, there are so many awesome indie patternmakers out there! If there is a company you love that we missed, please let us know. We would love to add them here! And if you are looking for more information or resources for sewing for larger bodies check out the Curvy Sewing Collective blog or the Cashmerette blog
