It's time to pull out your sketchbooks and mood boards - Modified Style is looking for designers for their annual fashion show! Designers range from teens to amateur adults to full-fledged professionals. We had a chance to attend the show last year and had a ball. Besides boasting an inclusive roaster of designers, all the fashions on the runway are made with second hand fabrics. This year you might even see fabric on the runway that you donated to Modified Style during our 2016 drive to support their work! The deadline for applying is Sunday, April 23. You can sign up online or in person at the Fabric Distribution Party, also on Sunday, April 23. Check their website for full details on the fashion show and the call for designers.
Whether you're a designer or just someone who wears clothes, you might also want to check out the Sustainable Fashion Forum, a panel discussion all about designing and selling environmentally responsible clothing. It should be an interesting discussion of the necessity and complications of making fashion more sustainable.
