July 4th Closure and a Big Thank You!

by Cameron

I've been spending a lot of time over the past three or four weeks thinking about what a wonderful community I get to be a part of here at Bolt. You make our days at the store fun and rewarding, and you'realways generous with the wider sewing community. You've been keeping the volunteers at IRCO's sewing classes busy, busy, busy organizing the supplies you donated during the month of May. Our students now have scissors that cut fabric, bobbins galore, a library of sewing patterns, and a truly gorgeous stash of fabric to work from. Thank you!

Last week, we all attended Modified Style Portland's annual fashion show featuring the fabrics that you donated last spring. It was a such a fun show with creative designs and - thanks to your generosity - beautiful fabrics! We also got to see our very own Sarah strut her stuff on the catwalk in a drop dead evening dress of her own design. I think I can safely speak for all of her coworkers when I say that we were so impressed and proud of her. It's a really fun show with music, aerial artists, and good slow fashion vibes. I encourage you to check it out next year! Check HERE for more photos.

And one more quick note - we'll be closed this Tuesday, July 4th. We hope you all have a safe and fun holiday with lots of the people and things you love!
