Just in: Happy New Year! edition

by Gina

I hope you all have had a wonderful wind down to 2014. It has been busy around the store—thank you! And, thank you for the kind comments of understanding and support of our time away during this typically crazy-retail holiday time. This past year has been a year of transitions for us around the store with April and Heather moving on to new adventures, and Hannah starting quite a new adventure welcoming her son into the world. We gained a delightful new addition to the Bolt crew in the fall when Cameron came on board. We’ve been busy tidying up the store, changing fixtures, streamlining our inventory, generally working to make your shopping experience better and better.

Now at the start of the new year, we will be saying our fond farewells to Amy, after 7 years (!) of her wonderful service at the store. We have also started to welcome our latest team addition—Nate. We will make a more formal introduction soon. If you’re in over the coming weeks, be sure to wish Amy well on her next chapter. She will be missed, but we are excited for her to see what’s next. Thank you all very, very much for your continued support and participation in the Bolt community. We love hearing about and seeing your creations. We all excited share with the others what we’ve seen on our shifts, so please feel encouraged to send us photos or bring your projects in. It’s an honor to be a part of your creative endeavors.

We have been and will be busy catching up on reordering, restocking and making room for new things. We will be closed today for the holiday and tomorrow (Friday) for inventory. We are excited to welcome you back on the 3rd to see these brand new treats:

Cotton fleece! It’s been super cold here lately, making this new fleece an even more welcome addition to our selection. The cheerfully colored four pieces on the left are organic cotton fleece from Birch Fabrics. The darker three colors on the right are non-organic cotton fleece. All of it is plush, fuzzy and quite cozy.

A new box from Seven Islands (one of our Japanese suppliers) just arrived! It’s always fun to see what has arrived from them. This shipment had not just great fabrics—two traditional Japanese indigo prints and a bold woodsy canvas—but also something new for us, webbing. That top, striped one is reversible, with different stripes on either side. Perfect to add an extra nice touch to your next bag, or whip up some custom belts.

Last but not least, a box from Art Gallery had these beauties from Bari J’s newest line, “Petal and Plume.”top piece is a cotton knit, lower piece is a cotton voile

two cheery quilting weight prints from “Petal and Plume”See you in the new year!
