I’ve saved the best for last. The sure-fire, can’t lose last minute gifts to give to your stitching loved ones or add to your own list. These are the gifts that we all have a hard time buying for ourselves, but that we would wear and use and admire for years to come. A dream to sew up and a treasure to behold, these are potentially perfect gifts.
First up, Liberty of London. Liberty ctton lawns are famous across the globe for their beautiful prints and amazingly soft, silky feel. They’re perfect in garments and home sewing. A pillow made with Liberty guarantees a good night’s sleep or at least a satiny smooth sleep.
We also sell smaller cuts of Liberty prints both in the store and on our website. Fat eighths, which are 9”x27”, are perfect for adding something special to a quilt or a garment, using as a luxurious hair wrap, or just framing.
After a machine, scissors are probably the most important, most used tool in the sewing box. Ghingers are top shelf scissors that make cutting through the hardiest fabrics feel like butter, and they’ll last forever if you keep them sharp and oiled.
Our merino knits are soft, warm, squishy, and cuddly. A couple yards would make a Marianne dress that you’ll never want to take off.
A recent addition to the store, Tulip needles made in Japan, are high quality hand needles. The packaging is so beautiful you don’t even need to wrap them. We carry sewing, easy threading, embroidery, sashiko, and leather needles. For more info on Tulip needles check out Hannah’s blog post.
These embroidery kits include several strands of embroidery floss, crane embroidery scissors, and embroidery needles, almost everything you need to get started with embroidery but the fabric. Through in some solid colored fat quarters or a yard of muslin, and you’re all set!
Come in this weekend to pick up these or any other last minute gifts. Don’t forget we’re closed Monday, December 21 – Thursday, December 25. We’ll also be closed on January 1 and 2.
We hope you have a restful and bright holiday, See you on December 26th!
