Flickr inspiration: February’s pick

—by Heather

Welcome, March! And congratulations to Robin Hashimoto, our winner for February’s Flickr pool inspiration. Robin kindly shared a few words with us about her project. More info can be found on her blog here.

: :  My five year old loves button-down dresses. (She loves to do *all* the buttons.) And she loves purple. What more could a girl ask for? Twirly skirts, of course! Both the dress and the skirt patterns are from the Japanese pattern book A Sunny Spot (ISBN 4529048942), which is an awesome book and my all-time fave of all these pattern books. The dress is pattern A, type 3, and I love its simple cut. The skirt is pattern C and is sewn from Essex Linen, which may be my favorite new fabric. It has a beautiful hand and drape, and it just shimmers. I’d love to snag some more of this in different colors then next time I’m in the shop. The whole outfit is of course inspired by the beautiful aesthetic of the japanese pattern books (to which i am hopelessly addicted).
Thanks so much for featuring my outfit! Bolt is most definitely my favorite fabric store—I really appreciate their mixture of fantastic apparel fabrics with the latest in quilting cottons, and they of course sell all of the best pattern lines. In fact, I’m pretty sure I need to stop in this weekend for another dose of inspiration.  : :

Thank you, Robin for sharing with the Bolt community.

Besides having her photo featured on our blog, Robin will receive a coupon worth 15% off her next purchase. Next month it could be you—so get busy posting those photos to the Bolt Neighborhood Flickr pool!
