Handmade Holiday Events

This Friday, November 5th, Modern Domestic is hosting a special Holiday Open House.  I was in the store yesterday and there's so much to look at right now!  The festivities start at 6pm.  You'll be able to take advantage of discounts on upcoming classes and merchandise, as well as an unlimited sewing pass for the next two months at a reduced price.  Details are here!

On November 13th from 4-6pm, join our own Elizabeth Hartman in celebration of her first book, The Practical Guide to Patchwork: New Basics for the Modern Quiltmaker.  She'll be sticking around with members of the Portland Modern Quilt Guild for a special Quilting Open Sew from 6-9 pm.   

Kata Golda is teaching a very special Stuffed Companion class on November 23rd and there are still spots available.  You can come look at her kits and finished softies in the store from now through the rest of November. 

We'll be closed Thursday, November 26th (Thanksgiving) and Friday November 27th to give the hard working crew at the store a little break.  Have no fear, though, MD will be hosting a special Black Friday Sewing Machine sale on the 27th. 

And, just so you don't double book, Alicia Paulson will be down at MD chatting about her new book, Embroidery Companion: Classic Designs for Modern Living, and signing your copies on December 3rd. Details (as well as a time) forthcoming!
