Anyone who knows me knows I am not a patient sewist, paying attention to every little detail, making meticulous items. I'm a bit of the opposite, actually. I like quick projects, easy gratification. So when I've needed to wrap some gifts lately, I've done up some quick bags and "ribbon" with fat quarters and torn strips.
A while back we had fat quarter bundles of a complete Anna Maria Horner line and I am so glad I decided to pick one of them up for myself. I love perusing the pieces, choosing one I think the recipient will particularly enjoy. Then, zip, zip, zip, sew three sides up, run a quick rolled hem around the top and I have a bag. I make the simplest and most rustic of trims by snipping and tearing a narrow strip of fabric to coordinate. The shot cottons are fun to do this with because the warp and weft threads are often different colors and that shows well when it's torn.
To encourage all of you to wrap in fabric this year, we are offering a couple of sweet deals. You will receive a free fat quarter with a purchase of $50 or more and all fat quarters will be 15% off. This great fat quarter extravaganza will run through the entire month of December.
