Reinvention by Maya Donenfeld

by Gina

I often find myself judging a book by its cover. I know, I know, we really shouldn’t, but we do, don’t we? Many times, that’s all I see, along with a short synopsis, before I order a copy to really check it out. This cover intrigued me and I was thrilled to flip through it once it arrived.

Maya Donefeld’s aesthetic is right up my alley. Easy going, with a clean, simple elegance, a natural beauty. Her approach to reusing textiles is easy to get behind as well.

I’ve included some shots of various projects I really appreciate, but there are so many in the book that I want to make, I couldn’t include them all. And, really, I don’t want to spoil the fun of flipping through the pages for any of you.

The final section of the book includes fantastic techniques for repurposing these Tyvek mailers…brilliant, I’ll leave it at that. Now, if I would just get something sent to me in one of these!
