A Word to Your Mother

This Sunday is Mother's day and if you are one or need to honor a mom in your life, we have got you covered. First off, there is a lot to like about a Gift Certificate and a couple of free hours with which to spend it. I know that lots of folks are down on the GC, but if you know someone who loves sewing or fabric, then TRUST ME-- they are great. Of course, if you take pleasure in picking out the perfect *tangible* gift, then here's a couple of ideas:

  • Bundle a pack of fat quarters (we have tons of colour combos to choose from!) and a new book on quilting or fat quarter projects for inspiration and how-tos.

  • Pair a Colette pattern and Gift Certificate for the apparel sewist in your life. Or maybe a new pair of Gingher lightweight sheers? She will thank you.

  • Pick a colorful bundle of embroidery thread and Doodle Stitching by Aimee Ray or A Rainbow of Stitches by Agnes Delage-Calvet, Anne Sohier-Fournel, Muriel Brunet and Francoise Ritz. We also carry themed pattern sets from Sublime Stitching, Tigerpup and Sew Lovely (to name a few).

And if you have some time this week, there are lots of handmade gifts that come together quickly with stunning results. I'm sure you've seen the Liberty Scarves from Purl. There's still plenty of time to make a Farmer's Market Tote or a couple of personalized tea towels. And don't forget scrappy about throw pillows.

And if you're angling for a specific gift for yourself, go ahead and drop your hints and send the gift buyer in to have a look around. We're happy to point them in the right direction.
