Martha Negley and Colette Patterns

(Four new prints from Martha Negley and Melissa White for Westminster Fabric!)

Now that the forecast calls for two (two!!) days above 60 degrees this week, it's time to start planning my Spring and Summer sewing wardrobe. I pulled everything I wear out on the bed and sifted through the piles checking for things that might need replacing or duplicating. It's just in time, too: Colette released two new patterns this week. I am a simple/casual dresser and these patterns are just right for dressing up or down this season. The Ginger A-line skirt and the Violet blouse are both designed for beginner sewists and a flattering fit on different body types. As much as I love the idea of wearing dresses, my heart belongs to separates like these. And just so happens, the apparel bins are being restocked with summer weight cotton and linen and beautiful knits.

Thank goodness for a beautiful Saturday forecast. It's the Alberta Earth Day District Clean-Up. Pre-registration is helpful but not necessary and wearing costumes is encouraged!
