I love Osnaburg. I love the texture, especially after it’s washed and dryed in the dryer. I love that it resembles the natural look of burlap but doesn’t possess the rough texture or barn smell of burlap (Don’t get me wrong, burlap barn smell has its place seeing as I walked down the aisle on burlap). It also has that classic linen look. I love the tiny pretty natural flecks throughout.
If you get tired of muslin, onsnaburg is a great alternative. Test your pattern and if it works, dye it a beautiful color and wear it! I’ve used osnaburg for curtains when I’m on a budget. Choose fabric that you really want your curtains made from and combine it with osnaburg. I get compliments all the time. I’ve also used it for napkins at our wedding. I trimmed the corner with a small piece of lace and watched, with great satisfaction, people shove them in their bags as souveniers. It’s great for lining bags. And lastly, I backed a qulit with it and it turned out perfect.
There are a few things we reorder here at Bolt and Osnaburg is one of them. Make it a staple of your stash.
